RIBOCA's film premiered at the Riga International Film Festival
The second Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art took place in the summer of 2020 in Riga, Andrejsala. The biennial lasted only three weeks, but it was attended by more than 20,000 people from Latvia and abroad.
On October 17, the Riga International Film Festival premiered the RIBOCA film – and suddenly it all blosomms – documenting the Riga International Biennale of Contemporary Art.
In the autumn, the film was shown in London, Berlin, Basel, Paris and Moscow. It is included in the film program of The Art Newspaper Russian Film Festival and Art Basel Art Fair. The film will have its digital world premiere at the end of November.
The Riga International Biennale of Contemporary Art (RIBOCA) is an international biennial founded in 2016 with a European focus and a strong regional profile. The rich history of Riga and the Baltic States allows the Biennale to highlight a wider region and creates opportunities for artists to enter into a dialogue with the cultural, historical and socio-political context of the city and its geographical surroundings.
