Sharing Insights on Leadership

20.10.2026

At the international multidisciplinary scientific conference RelStat-2026, Jūlija Bērziņa participated and shared her professional experience and reflections on leadership, emphasizing that a leader's role is not limited solely to managing team, process, and organizational goals. Equally essential is the ability to manage oneself — being aware of one's priorities, making decisions, living with their consequences, and maintaining a balance between professional responsibilities, family, and personal growth.

In her address, Jūlija Bērziņa shared her professional expertise and reflections on executive leadership, emphasizing that an executive's role extends beyond managing teams, processes, and corporate objectives. Equally critical is self-leadership — understanding one's priorities, making informed decisions, taking accountability for outcomes, and maintaining equilibrium between professional responsibilities, family life, and personal development.

In today’s dynamic corporate landscape, effective leadership demands not only competence, accountability, and performance drive, but also self-awareness, boundary-setting, and strategic resource allocation regarding time and effort. Sustainable leadership stems from a clear understanding of personal core values and achieving synergy across all key domains of life.

Attended by over 400 participants both in person and virtually, the session focused on human-centric transformations within the transport industry, alongside the experiences and challenges faced by women in the sector. The event convened industry stakeholders and professionals to discuss human factors in organizational change and opportunities for career advancement.

"Three key takeaways from the conference:

  1. We build roads and bridges with concrete and steel, but human factors remain at the core of everything;
  2. A leader is a resource that requires continuous replenishment to deliver maximum value;
  3. While the push toward sustainability remains strong, personal transportation continues to be the most convenient mobility solution for women."

Participation in the conference provided a platform to highlight female leadership within the transport and logistics sector, assess current industry trends through an executive lens, and reinforce the principle that organizational growth is fundamentally driven by people — their expertise, core values, and adaptability in times of change.
