On 17 April 2024, the opening meeting for the open design competition "RIGA ROPAX TERMINAL IECERE" took place at the Institute of Architecture and Design of Riga Technical University.

The competition was launched on 18 December 2023, giving participants 14 weeks to submit their entries. In total, nearly sixty applicants applied to receive documentation of the competition and ten entries were received.
