Today, May 7, the winners of the architectural competition for a new passenger and ro-ro cargo terminal of Riga Ropax Terminal were awarded. The world-famous London-based architect firm Zaha Hadid Architects won the first prize. The next step in the new terminal’s development is work on the construction design. If the project is developed successfully, Riga Ropax Terminal will open its doors to passengers in 2028.

On 18 December 2023, Riga Ropax Terminal launched a call for proposals for the vision of the new Ropax terminal and the adjacent area. The deadline for the submission of the sketch designs is 25 March 2024!

The Freeport of Riga Authority together with its partners - the Port of Stockholm and Riga Ropax Terminal Ltd - submitted an application for CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) funding.
